Project Rationale

The Fucking Soap Co., LLC makes products aimed at the young professional about to make his mark on the world. These products are created directly for community oriented men in a traditional college environment. With East Coast sensibilities and an Ivy-League mentality, these products hit the middle ground between the adolescent and professional world while clearly conveying a sense of luxury and purpose.

I went with a black-letter font because I wanted to clearly convey masculine luxury without losing elegance. I paired it with Adobe Garamond Pro due to the versatility of the font in both body text and supporting headings. For the color, a dramatic, royal blue was chosen. Purple was the natural choice for a luxury product but something was lost when paired with the dramatic white, making the blue a better option. The design is meant to be simple, communicating what the product is and who made it, relying more on the color to grab attention than specific visual elements. This product fits just as naturally in your bathroom as it does near the counter at Barneys or Neiman Marcus.
